Moon Eternal, Make Up

Standing at the top of Usagi Tsukino's ladder of activation calls, this phrase carries her into Eternal Sailor Moon, her most advanced guardian state, through the power of the Eternal Moon Article. It turns up in the printed volumes and in the closing season of the original animated series.

In later manga editions, Usagi reaches her Eternal form using both this command and Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up, leaning on the Eternal Moon Article together with the Holy Moon Chalice. Because the alternate phrase sees far more use in those pages, the bulk of the manga transformation coverage belongs to that entry instead.

The fifth animated season carries two takes on the change: a brief one used through the Queen Nehellenia stretch, where Super Sailor Moon steps up to Eternal Sailor Moon, and a fuller one reserved for the main plot, in which Usagi shifts straight into the Eternal state.

The shorter cut opens with the planetary emblems of Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn streaming into the Crisis Moon Compact, which flares and reshapes into the Eternal Moon Article. Its lid lifts to bare the crystal within; Super Sailor Moon grazes it and it throws off bright pink light. Feathers hide her briefly, and she returns bearing large angelic wings with a gold crescent alight on her forehead, the Article suspended between her palms. She raises her hands so it locks to her chest, spreads her wings, twirls, and a final rush of feathers leaves Eternal Sailor Moon posed.

The extended cut lingers over each stage: the Article opens, she brushes the crystal for its pink glow, and golden light gathers into her forehead crescent as wings rise at her back. Feathers assemble her leotard and gloves in turn, she turns so the rest of her uniform materializes, and a last spin shrinks her wings before she settles into her closing stance.

Usagi Tsukino alone speaks this command, using it to become Eternal Sailor Moon in both the manga and the fifth animated season. The phrase marks the final rung of her personal transformation lineage.
