Moon Frisbee

Introduced in the opening chapter of the printed series, this technique is the very first weapon Sailor Moon reaches for in the manga. It works as a boomerang-type strike built around her tiara, and it closely mirrors the animated series' Moon Tiara Action while keeping a few distinct touches of its own.

During the 2003 to 2004 New Cover reissues, the move was relabeled Moon Tiara Boomerang so its name would line up with the live-action adaptation, where the tiara reshaped into a boomerang. Since the Kodansha edition took those reprints as its foundation, it carried the revised name forward as well.

To launch the attack, Sailor Moon lifts the tiara from her brow, and it seems to change on its own into a rounded, disc-like shape she then flings toward her opponent while calling out its name. In this thrown form the jewel set into the tiara grows pointed and diamond-like, perched at the top of the disc. One notable contrast with the animated counterpart is that the manga's spinning disc gives off no glow as it flies.

Sailor Moon is the technique's user. The source records one attempt against Koan, who turned her own flames on the disc and deflected it before it could land.
