Castor and Pollux

The two mirror each other in dress while differing sharply in color. Castor carries red skin under brown-grey hair, wrapped in an outfit of dark pink above a paler pink skirt. Pollux shows lilac skin and grey hair, her costume dark teal over a lighter green skirt.

Each wears a cropped top cut with a triangular gap at the chest, knickers, a half skirt, a lone glove, an armband, a necklace, and a single sock reaching the thigh. Both add a white bow, a belt, and shoulder pads. Their long tails link one twin to the other, and the sides on which they place the glove, the sock, and the rounded part of the triangle detail run opposite between them.

The pair make a loud show of an indestructible bond, yet that friendship proves brittle. Their rivalry over who lands the finishing blow flares into open fighting, and in the heat of it they forget their enemies entirely and even sever the tie between them. It is their vanity and pettiness, not any guardian's strength, that undoes them.

Disguised as Masato Sanjoin, Nephrite plants his evil crest inside the stub of an animator's pencil owned by Hiromi Matsuno, who is racing to outdo her friend Kazuko Tadashita on drawings of Sailor V. The moment Hiromi hits her creative peak, the twins burst from the pencil and drain her energy. Kazuko, Rei, Ami, and Usagi rush in; Kazuko faints, and the girls transform to face the monsters.

Because the twins are joined by a strong friendship, Nephrite believes they will outclass the Sailor Guardians. Linked by their yellow ribbon, they prove formidable: Castor copies Sailor Mars' Fire Soul and Pollux copies Sailor Mercury's Bubble Spray, turning both against the confused guardians. The twins would have won had they not started quarreling over who finishes the fight. Their bickering grows so bitter that they lose track of their foes and break apart their tails, and with no leader to keep them in line the guardians combine attacks and destroy them at once. Hiromi's energy returns to her, she reconciles with Kazuko, and Nephrite is left plotting again after underestimating Sailor Moon.
