History
Through the second season he beams nightmares into the mind of his past self, pushing Mamoru to grow cold and break things off with Usagi so she will not meet the death shown in the visions. He later aims the same dreams at Usagi to cool her feelings, yet the plan backfires: sharing a single dream instead lets the two make peace and reunite. What he truly wants is a bond strong enough to carry them through the assault of the Black Moon Clan and Wiseman.
In the future he reigns over Crystal Tokyo as Small Lady's father, first met as a computerized image because his body has been gravely wounded fighting the Black Moon Clan, and he is never shown trading blows in battle. He tells the present-day Usagi and Mamoru that they are fated to marry, to bring Chibiusa into the world, and to govern the future Earth, and he senses that Chibiusa is hidden inside the Crystal Palace. Diana adds a lighter note, remarking that the king and queen like to feign illness so they can duck out of formal banquets and meetings.
