Kousagi Tsukino

In her everyday form Kousagi wears her bright pink hair in four cone-shaped odango whose pigtails curl at the tips, and her eyes are blue. Her casual outfit runs to a short summer dress patterned with little spheres, worn with dark sandals. Her guardian uniform leans hard on a rabbit motif: a white leotard bears a chest bow and a white bunny-head brooch, the collar carries three stripes, and a bunny head tops her tiara. The same rabbit shape repeats on her earring studs, her choker, the clips in her hair, and the covers over all four odango. She finishes the look with padded elbow-length gloves, a skirt fastened by two belts with a bow at the back, and knee-high heeled boots trimmed with circular padding.

The side story opens with Kousagi trailing after Ami Jr., Rei Jr., Mako, and Mina, who grumble about being saddled with her and stride on ahead. As they settle a round of rock-paper-scissors to decide who must mind her, she cries out that a pink cat has landed on her. Even though the animal ranks among her worst fears, the older girls make her carry both the cat and their bags. A brilliant light overhead, which they take for a UFO or a meteorite, stirs in each of them a sense that the world stands in peril and a sudden urge to shield Kousagi. Struck by something, Kousagi finds the pink cat now in human shape, urging her to transform, guard the planet, and treat the others as her underlings. She agrees and rejoins the four, who have likewise woken as guardians. The dazzling light turns out to be a stampede of rabbits, and Kousagi summons a swarm of cats that fuse into an enormous lynx to swallow them whole. The five then jolt awake before an irritated Setsuna, Haruka, and Michiru, scolded for dozing off after arriving late to their cooking class, leaving Kousagi to wonder whether any of it truly happened.

Kousagi calls out Parallel Moon Power, Make Up to change into her guardian form, a transformation driven by an unnamed brooch the pink cat gives her. She has no set attack of her own; instead she rallies the gathered cats into a single giant lynx with a shouted command. In that moment she is briefly seen gripping an unidentified weapon that resembles the Moon Stick.
