Oppositio Guardians

Every member of the group is fashioned as a physical echo of one of the Inner Sailor Guardians, closely resembling the heroine she is meant to counter. The lineup runs Sin, Nabu, Nergal, Marduk, and Ishtar.

Unity of purpose is thin among them: each of the five signs on with Shaman Apsu for reasons of her own, just as Apsu chases an agenda of her own. Their collective name comes from the Latin for opposition, and every member is called after a god once venerated somewhere in ancient Mesopotamia, from Sin the moon god to Ishtar the goddess of love and beauty.

The five hail from Crystal Tokyo in the thirtieth century, where Shaman Apsu recruits them and grants each strength on par with her Sailor counterpart. Apsu herself is driven by desperation, wasting away as she is from existing in the Crystal Tokyo era. In battle the guardians each command their own techniques, and some borrow attacks that belong to other villains. The roster sets Sin against Sailor Moon, Nabu against Sailor Mercury, Nergal against Sailor Mars, Marduk against Sailor Jupiter, and Ishtar against Sailor Venus.
