Sailor Galaxia

In her true self, Galaxia has striking red eyes and long, wavy hair the color of golden orange that spills to her feet and burns to bright red at the tips, worn with a soft lime-green gown that reaches the floor. Her guardian form trades the gown for gold: a uniform that reads as armor more than a sailor suit, matching boots, and a tall gold headdress shaped like a Russian kokoshnik, her hair rolled up inside it so the whole silhouette suggests a crown. Orange lipstick, pale purple eyeshadow, bracelets, a gold choker and belt, and a brooch complete the design.

Under Chaos, everything darkens. The uniform, the headdress, and the boots turn black, her skin shifts to light purple, her lipstick to deep purple, and her hair to red.

There are two Galaxias. The original is warm and selfless, willing to lock Chaos inside her own body to save the galaxy, and it is heavily implied she was its appointed defender, casting the Light of Hope away so someone might one day take her place; after her healing she gently returns every stolen Star Seed to its owner. The corrupted Galaxia is her opposite, a cruel and arrogant being who erases whole worlds for their Star Seeds and considers herself the strongest guardian in existence, above even the gods. She demands worship and answers any perceived slight, even simple empathy, by seizing a Star Seed or killing outright. She nearly murders Usagi for the crime of pitying her, and she reveals a short temper whenever she is denied what she wants.

Long ago Galaxia was the legendary Sailor Guardian, one of many who fought the centuries-long Sailor Wars against Chaos, the source of all malice bent on devouring the galaxy. To end the bloodshed for good, she chose to seal Chaos where no one could ever release it, driving her sword into its heart and drawing it into herself. But Chaos gnawed at her soul with every heartbeat, and rather than let it win she cast out her own Star Seed instead, flinging it to the far edge of the galaxy as the last Light of Hope. That seed drifted to Earth and became the child Chibi Chibi.

Emptied of her soul, Galaxia fell fully under Chaos and turned from the galaxy's savior into its destroyer, razing worlds to harvest Star Seeds and keeping herself alive through the golden bracelets that mark her corruption. To each conquered world's guardian she offered a choice: die in its defense, or surrender a Star Seed and serve as a Sailor Animamate. Reaching for Earth, she broke Queen Nehelenia's seal to force Sailor Saturn awake, then attacked Mamoru's airplane and tore out his Golden Star Seed, killing him, though not before he let slip that ten guardians defend the planet. She sent her Animamates hunting and, when they failed, killed most of them herself before confronting the guardians directly, slaying Princess Kakyuu and the inner and outer senshi apart from Pluto and Saturn.

In episode 199 she reveals that she herself is the legendary guardian who sealed Chaos, stunning Sailor Moon and the Starlights. In the final battle Chibi Chibi becomes the Sword of Sealing, and as Chaos feels Princess Serenity's power it seizes Galaxia's body outright, transforming her into Chaos Galaxia. Serenity refuses to fight, seeing the brave, good guardian buried beneath the corruption, and even after her sword is shattered she answers only with love and purity. That finally drives Chaos out and returns darkness to where it belongs. Her soul restored, Galaxia releases every Star Seed she stole and, stripped bare as a sign of her innocence, leaves Earth to guide them all home.

Her power is almost without limit. She fires razor energy blasts and beams, looses golden lightning from her hands, and bends the dark lightning of her own aura, even channeling it through a blade. She raises invisible barriers, swings waves of force from her sword, hurls repelling blasts and balls of pure energy, and can shatter planets as easily as Sailor Saturn. Her Galactica Bracelets fire energy that rips out a Star Seed and destroys its owner, and in her corrupted state she wields a golden whip and a sword strong enough to break the Sword of Sealing itself.
