Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon

Great butterfly wings, edged in black and shaded from indigo through pink to yellow at their tips, spread from her back. Indigo carries through the rest of her: the wavy hair, the eyes, and the long, pointed nails all share the shade. She dresses in a scale-patterned bikini top with a sailor collar and matching choker, a sheer pink miniskirt, and armbands in the same blue scales, with the Galactica Bracelets worn over them. Tall black boots, scaled at the top, finish the look.

Of all the Animamates she is the quietest and hardest to read, wrapped in an air of mystery. That stillness masks something merciless. She stays detached and unfeeling toward the ones she hunts, and a deep streak of cruelty runs through her; she takes special pleasure in setting victims alight and savoring their slow, agonized deaths.

Papillon presides over a cemetery in Sagittarius Zero Star, a place swarming with luminous butterflies. Those insects stand for the last embers of stars that have burned out, and their wings ferry the remains across the galaxy in a ceaseless funeral march. When Princess Kakyuu and Sailor Moon reach the graveyard and find a plot marked for the Sailor Starlights, Papillon ambushes them, showing off gravediggers already at work on tombs meant for Sailor Moon, Kakyuu, and Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon.

She binds the three to crosses with vines, names herself the last of the Animamates, and promises them the galaxy's most beautiful funeral before loosing fire butterflies to burn them alive. Her control over flame and vines nearly wins the day, but the scheme collapses when Sailor Chibi Moon and the Sailor Quartet arrive: their Pink Ladies Freezing Kiss snuffs out the flames and vines, and the Quartet's Amazoness Jungle Arrow finishes her for good. Her Crystal debut also marks the first time this manga creation appears in animation.
