Moon Power of Love: The Nightmare Ends

Bloodied and exhausted, Usagi finally struggles her way to Nehelenia's stronghold only to find every one of her friends already beaten and imprisoned by the queen. Rather than strike back, she hears the story of Nehelenia's isolated girlhood and concludes the ruler deserves a fresh chance to reclaim the innocent dreams she lost as a child.

While Chibi Moon clings to a spellbound Mamoru and slowly fades from existence, Sailor Saturn holds the line, raising her Silence Glaive and threatening to perish alongside Nehelenia before Chibi Moon stops her from a fatal Silence Glaive Surprise. Nehelenia knocks the weapon away, seals Saturn in a mirror, and forces Usagi to watch Chibiusa vanish in her arms as the other captured guardians look on.

Taunting Sailor Moon, the queen reveals that she orchestrated all of this so Usagi would taste her own loneliness, then recounts how a magical mirror once freed her from that ache by granting eternal youth and beauty at the cost of ever having a real friend. Usagi's fury melts into pity; through her tears she refuses to hate, pleads for her friends' release, and offers the queen her own friendship. Her mercy cracks the Dark Mirror shard lodged in Mamoru's eye, which frees the eight trapped guardians and restores Chibi Moon.

United again as dawn nears and with Mamoru transformed into Prince Endymion, the team pours its combined power into Usagi, who becomes Eternal Sailor Moon for good and uses the Eternal Tiare to cleanse the New Moon and awaken Nehelenia's buried wish. The queen weeps, begs forgiveness, and is reborn as a child among her human retainers while her castle collapses. As the guardians celebrate a new morning, a burst of wicked laughter echoes across the Earth, hinting at the threat to come.

This is the final time all ten Sailor Guardians stand together on screen and the only appearance of Silence Glaive Surprise, which is never fully unleashed. Nehelenia makes her last anime showing outside of later flashbacks, the Crisis Moon Compact evolves into the Eternal Moon Article, and it is the closing episode for both Chibiusa and her cat Diana. In the manga Nehelenia, an incarnation of Chaos, is never redeemed.
