Zirconia delivers a grim warning to the Amazon Trio: unless they locate Pegasus and the Golden Crystal before the next full moon rises, the magic that reshaped them into human-like beings will run out and drag them back to their original animal forms. The threat leaves the three with a narrowing window and mounting desperation.

Fish Eye sets his sights on Mamoru, and in chasing him comes to genuinely appreciate the worth of beautiful dreams for the first time. The pursuit crosses paths with Usagi, who wrestles down her jealousy and resentment, warms to Fish Eye's disguise, and even brings her home.

The ultimatum reframes the Trio's mission as a race against their own dissolving humanity, raising the stakes on their hunt for Pegasus. Fish Eye's softening toward the value of dreams, and Usagi's decision to extend kindness rather than rivalry, mark a quiet turning point in how the two regard one another.

This episode brings the first appearances of the Amazoness Quartet and Queen Nehelenia, both shown only in silhouette, along with the debut of the Magic Orb. It also diverges from the manga, where Zirconia never menaced the Amazon Trio with a return to animal shape, and where the Amazoness Quartet were the ones who appeared before the Trio and gave them their orders.
