Dark Henge

Appearing solely in Sailor Moon R, the Dark Henge were carved into the likeness of Esmeraude and served as the machinery behind the Dark Gate. Esmeraude set them at the Negative Point to open that gateway, though a single statue was never enough; she required a whole set working together to make the passage take hold.

Once positioned at the Negative Point, the statues swelled with Dark Power and began forming the gate, with a Droid posted to guard them. The Sailor Guardians repeatedly disrupted the scheme. Whenever a guarding Droid was beaten, its Dark Henge appeared to self-destruct, shrinking and venting Dark Power before toppling and breaking apart. Chiral and Achiral fielded a pair of far larger golden versions that towered over Chibiusa's elementary school after sprouting up in almost no time, yet those too shattered upon the brothers' defeat.

Esmeraude was the primary user, with Saphir credited as their maker and Chiral and Achiral deploying their own oversized pair. After Esmeraude died, Prince Demande abandoned the statues entirely, choosing instead to draw on Black Lady's power in the present through a large crystal, with Black Lady channeling the Dark Power directly, which left the Dark Henge unneeded for the new gate.
