Taioron Crystal

The Taioron Crystal is a sizable silvery pendant and one of the most valuable assets held by the Death Busters, who put it to several uses. Perched atop Mugen Academy and wreathed in a purple glow, it was named by Pharaoh 90 as the very fountain of his strength and energy. When he sensed a rival power that matched it, he sent his devoted servant Kaolinite to track that power down. The Eternal Edition of the manga renders the name as Thyoron Crystal.

Beyond channeling Pharaoh 90's power, the pendant doubled as a healing charm. Professor Tomoe presented it to his daughter as a necklace, calling it a keepsake from her late mother, to soothe her recurring fits and steady her failing health. During one such seizure, Hotaru faintly asked Chibiusa to fetch the amulet resting on her desk, and clutching it eased her dizziness. She explained that amulets are pendants carrying strange powers that shelter whoever wears them. This moved Chibiusa to open her Prism Heart Compact and reveal the Silver Crystal she kept on a slender chain, hoping to lend its power to Hotaru, who felt her pain fade. As the Taioron Crystal weakened, Pharaoh 90 pressed his followers to secure a substitute of equal strength.

Pharaoh 90, Hotaru Tomoe, and Kaolinite are the figures tied to the pendant. The replacement power Pharaoh 90 demanded arrived when Mistress 9 surfaced fully inside Hotaru and seized Chibiusa's Silver Crystal as an offering to her master. When the four Inner Guardians later defeated Kaolinite, the fragment she carried broke apart. After Mistress 9 swallowed the Silver Crystal, Pharaoh 90 had no further use for the Taioron Crystal and crushed it. The item never surfaced in the 90s anime's third season.
