The Tellun is a carnivorous plant, the handiwork of Tellu from the Witches 5, and it appears across the manga, anime, and Crystal. Sold in disguise to ordinary buyers, the flowers open to harvest their victims, drawing souls in the manga and Pure Heart Crystals in the anime for the Death Busters.
Grown and designed by Tellu, one of the Witches 5, the Tellun turns up throughout the manga, the anime, and Crystal. In each of those tellings Tellu masks her true self and slips the plants to unsuspecting people, so that a bloom can reap life once it flowers. Crystal keeps the role the manga gave the plant, while dressing it to resemble the version from the 90s anime more closely.
In the manga, Tellu kept her identity hidden and peddled Telluns to buyers, and once the blossoms opened they drew out human souls to be handed to Pharaoh 90; the Senshi tracked her down and ended the scheme. The anime runs along similar lines. Behind a false face she ran a shop selling the flowers, and their blooming pulled Pure Heart Crystals from everyone close by, which she stored inside a star-shaped vessel. A group made up of Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Pluto, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Sailor Moon caught up with her, whereupon every Tellun but one fell to Super Sailor Moon. Furious, Tellu drenched the survivor in a growth agent that ballooned it into a Hyper Tellun aimed at the team. A strike from Tuxedo Mask loosed the captured Pure Hearts and fooled the Hyper Tellun into rounding on its own maker. Tellu turned her vine assault against it in a bid to kill it, only to be wiped out alongside the creature.
Tellu, one of the Witches 5, both invents the plant and remains its only handler in every continuity, wielding it in service of the Death Busters. The CWi English dub gave the flowers a handful of alternate labels, calling them Happy Blooms, Venus Heart Traps, and Telulu Flowers.
The Tellun is a carnivorous plant created by Tellu of the Witches 5, appearing across the manga, anime, and Sailor Moon Crystal. Tellu disguises herself and sells the flowers to unsuspecting buyers, and each bloom harvests its victim once it opens.
In the manga, a blooming Tellun draws out a victim's soul for Pharaoh 90, while in the anime it instead pulls Pure Heart Crystals from everyone nearby, which Tellu stores inside a star-shaped vessel.
Super Sailor Moon destroys every Tellun but one, and after Tellu enlarges the survivor into a Hyper Tellun, Tuxedo Mask frees the captured Pure Hearts and tricks the creature into turning on its creator; Tellu then attacks it with her vines and is destroyed alongside it.
Tellu, one of the Witches 5 serving the Death Busters, creates the Tellun and remains its only handler across every version of the story.
The CWi English dub gives the Tellun several alternate names, including Happy Blooms, Venus Heart Traps, and Telulu Flowers.
