Function

Venus swings the lash to unleash Venus Love and Beauty Shock, and later Venus Love and Galactica Shock. Unlike her old chain, which was broken up by large beads, this weapon reshapes its links to suit the moment. Fighting the twins Xenotime and Zeolite, the strand is dotted with roses; while pursuing Zirconia in the manga, the links form hearts, the same shape shown on the cover of the thirteenth tankoubon volume. When she wears the Galactica Bracelets and calls out Venus Love and Galactica Shock, the links become stars alongside rings built from tiny beads. In Sailor Moon Eternal the whip is rendered with orange beads and orange roses.

Notable Users

Only Sailor Venus carries the Whip of Love. She comes into it together with her Venus Crystal at the moment Artemis rescues her from Xenotime and Zeolite, then immediately turns it on the twins to finish them with Venus Love and Beauty Shock. From that point she relies on it throughout her Super and Eternal states. Her habit of fighting with chain-like weapons ties her to the Metal element, echoing a literal rendering of the planet Venus in Japanese as the metal star.
