Act 27 Infinity 1 Premonition

Serving as the first chapter of the Infinity arc, this installment introduces the threat gathering around Mugen Academy. A fresh evil stirs, ordinary students warp into creatures, and the guardians begin probing the strange elite school. Along the way they cross paths with celebrity racer Haruka Tenou and famed violinist Michiru Kaiou, two figures whose presence hints at forces not yet understood.

In darkness, a voice speaks of an awakening light and the destructive potential of the Taioron Crystal, promising a world remade once the planet's defenders fall. A woman vows to Pharaoh 90 that she will rouse that light. Elsewhere Rei and Mamoru both jolt awake from ominous dreams, and Rei studies her sacred fire, troubled by a peculiar glow. Usagi wakes late as always, dashing off while Chibiusa watches a broadcast about a monster that struck Mugen Academy and turned its students into beasts. Chibiusa catches up to hand over Usagi's forgotten lunch and scold her, which only irritates the older girl, though a quiet kiss from Mamoru is cut short when he hears the same doom-laden voice from his dream.

At the Game Center Crown arcade, the group tries a new racing game, and Naru marvels at the player beside her hitting absurd speeds. That racer turns out to be Haruka, whose good looks instantly dazzle Minako and Makoto. Outside, Mamoru bumps into Michiru and returns her dropped hand mirror; catching his reflection, she remarks that he must have been a prince in a former life. Haruka rejoins Michiru, and the two, both Mugen Academy students, draw whispers about being a perfect couple. A magazine article later confirms Haruka's fame and her transfer from a nearby public high school.

As Mugen students pass, Usagi's brooch flares and a black creature erupts from one girl's back. Mamoru pulls bystanders clear, the guardians transform, and Venus and Jupiter destroy the monster while Venus feels unseen eyes on her. Studying footage in the Secret Base, Luna and Artemis link the attacks to the school, which sits at the center of a triangle split into the Tenou, Kaiou, and Meiou zones. Kaolinite, the woman serving Pharaoh 90, dispatches the Witches 5 to hunt down the guardians. When Usagi slips into the campus with her Disguise Pen, she is drawn to Michiru's violin, only to be warned that the place is dangerous, while Haruka blocks her friends outside. Nearby, Chibiusa discovers a girl doubled over in pain near the Tomoe Research Laboratory, and as a fresh monster descends, two silhouettes watch from the moonlight.

The chapter marks the debut of several major players, including Sailor Uranus, Michiru Kaiou, Hotaru Tomoe, and Kaolinite, with Pharaoh 90 heard only as a voice. Mugen Academy appears for the first time, alongside items such as the Prism Heart Compact, the Deep Aqua Mirror, and the Taioron Crystal. New henshin phrases for the Inner Guardians debut here, together with the Jupiter Coconut Cyclone and Venus Wink Chain Sword attacks.
