Act 46 Dream 8 - Elysion Dream

Even as the curse wears at them, Usagi and Mamoru come to understand more about Helios and Elysion, the dream realm he serves as guardian priest. They also learn about the Golden Crystal in his keeping, the treasure the planet will need to be saved from Queen Nehellenia.

Usagi dreams of a childhood married life with Mamoru before he wakes her, and the two meet Helios, who reveals they have been drawn into Elysion, now battered by the Dead Moon's assault. He explains that Elysion lies deep beneath the Earth and was once part of the Golden Kingdom, protected across generations by Endymion's line before the Silver Millennium fell. The force that shielded both Elysion and the Earth from within, he says, is Mamoru's own crystal of immense power, the Golden Crystal.

To rescue the planet, Usagi must break the seal concealing that crystal, and she realizes it lies hidden inside Mamoru. When they find Helios imprisoned and try to free him, Nehellenia intervenes, but before she can strike, Helios sends the couple back to the surface. Weakened, he spends the last of his strength to purify the world and buy the guardians a chance, only for Zirconia to appear and drive a devastating, lethal blast through Super Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.

Naoko Takeuchi wrote and illustrated the chapter, which brings the realm of Elysion and the Maenads onto the page and introduces the future Chibiusa as Princess Lady Serenity.
