Key Events

Confronted by Chaos, Usagi summons every Sailor Crystal in the galaxy, and they answer her call, while Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta rouse to lend their own strength as well. Channeling that combined might, she invokes Silver Moon Crystal Eternal Power and hauls both herself and Chaos down into the Cauldron, where she dissolves. The Quartet then watch a vast ribbon of light rise from the pit and meet Sailor Cosmos, who explains that star seeds are drifting home to their origins. This rebirth, she notes, springs not from the Silver Crystal but from the Cosmos Crystal's Lambda Power, forged when Sailor Moon fused the scattered crystals together. Cosmos admits she hails from a distant future in which she failed to defeat Sailor Chaos, and that she traveled back hoping to steer Usagi toward a different choice, though Usagi ultimately followed her own. Before departing, she sends the Quartet back to their era.

Usagi stirs awake within the Cauldron and reunites with Mamoru alongside Minako, Ami, Rei, Makoto, Setsuna, Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru. Chibiusa promises they will meet again in the future before the Cauldron carries her off. Guardian Cosmos appears, and after a brief exchange Usagi declares this is the life she wishes to lead however hard it becomes. As the group is swept away, Guardian Cosmos quietly reveals that Guardian Chaos and the Chaos Seed have broken apart, yet could resurface someday.

Notes

The finale ends on a hopeful beat as Usagi wakes from a dream of the Crystal Palace, coaxes Mamoru into proposing once more, and announces at their wedding that she is expecting a child, the couple vowing to guard the Earth, one another, and their friends forever. Mamoru reflects that his bride will keep shining for eternity.

This closes the manga's main narrative and was the final chapter first printed in Nakayoshi magazine, though not the last material the franchise ever released; Parallel Sailor Moon and the two closing Codename: Sailor V chapters followed it. Later re-releases padded the ending with extra pages, among them two that place Chibiusa inside the Cauldron, since she originally never appeared here and was only implied through Usagi's pregnancy and Sailor Cosmos' remarks. Luna, Artemis, and Diana are absent, yet Takeuchi suggested the Lambda Power could revive them as unnamed star seeds, keeping the Crystal Tokyo future intact, and the same holds for others who died in the arc.
