Chiyoko Kawashima is a retired Japanese voice actress, active from 1974 until 2001, who voiced several roles in the original Sailor Moon anime, including Usagi's classmate Haruna Sakurada and her younger brother Shingo Tsukino.
Kawashima voiced a cluster of parts in the original Sailor Moon anime, most notably Haruna Sakurada, Usagi's classmate and close friend, and Shingo Tsukino, Usagi's younger brother, both recurring members of the everyday cast surrounding the heroine. She also lent her voice to several one-off villain and monster roles across the series, including Yamandakka, Utonberino, Derella, and the group known as the DD Girls. This spread of parts, from ordinary schoolgirl to comic-relief villain, reflects the kind of range voice actresses were regularly asked to cover in the original run.
Born Chiyoko Shimoyama in Tokyo, Kawashima worked as a voice actress for nearly three decades before stepping away from the industry in 2001. Her last credited role was Koron Kusakabe, the mother of protagonist Maron Kusakabe, in the anime Phantom Thief Jeanne, closing out a career that began in the mid-1970s.
