Boiled

Boiled is a tall, solidly built man with short hair, drawn brown in the manga and black elsewhere, a beard, and a scar on his left cheek. He tends to top his head with a pink beanie and shades his eyes behind golden-yellow sunglasses, while his torso is wrapped in a seafoam Hawaiian shirt patterned with dark green grenades. Olive trousers studded with steel beads around the pockets hold his bombs, and he finishes the look with white high-top sneakers. As a teenager he sported an afro and a short goatee, dressing in a red shirt under a black leather jacket and matching pants.

Boiled builds his whole identity around being hard-boiled, which to him marks the highest peak of toughness a person can reach, a label he will even pin on someone like Sakamoto's furious wife Aoi. He works to stay cool and unflappable, though his temper slips, especially when Obiguro acts in a way he dislikes. For all his menace he keeps a strict code, refusing to harm anything other than his mark, going so far as to stop Obiguro from crushing an ant. His long grudge against Sakamoto sprang from a misunderstanding back in their academy days, and he wept when the man failed to even recognize him. Once their fight ended, he finally granted Sakamoto the title of hard-boiled, swore off pursuing him again, and even took his side against Aoi's scolding.

Boiled crossed paths with Sakamoto at fifteen inside the JCC and struck up a friendship that also drew in Nagumo and his eventual partner Obiguro. Sakamoto's indifference, and his greater ease with girls, left the bond mostly one-sided, and Boiled vowed to make the man remember him. He grew into a formidable assassin, strong enough to overpower Sakamoto in the opening of their duel. He and Obiguro, dubbed the Dondenkai's powerhouse duo, once killed two hundred people in the Ronriko Incident, though Nagumo notes neither reaches the caliber of the Order. He hits hard enough to fling Sakamoto through a wall and endure being slammed into a Ferris wheel car, walking it off with a cigarette. His edge comes from an armored gauntlet on his left hand fitted with pipes that can be packed with dynamite; detonating that charge powers his Rocket Dynamite Punch, a blow fast enough to send Sakamoto flying. He rounds out his arsenal with Super Ball Bombs, small explosives that bounce without going off until he wants them to, which he hurls in accurate, wall-ricocheting handfuls.
