Appearance

Golden nail guards run across his fingers, each stamped with one letter so his name reads GOZU when the hand closes, and a ringed mechanical implant sits sunk into the middle of his chest, its tubes rooted into the flesh around it. Youthful and of middling build and height, he bleaches spiky black hair to ash blond so the roots keep showing, and freckles scatter over his nose beneath ringed yellow eyes on tanned skin. His clothes are a white sleeveless shirt, a necklace strung with alternating red, purple, and yellow discs, mismatched black and white wristbands, sashed black shorts, and pale high-top sneakers. Eight years back, his hair sat in a bowl cut with bangs over the brow.

Personality

Gozu reads as lazy and mischievous, telling a panicked Shishiba to quit getting worked up and tossing out jokes as he fights him and Kamihate. Wounded by Osaragi, he only laughs while retreating, and he waves at Uzuki to settle down; after zapping his own allies to keep them off Uzuki's Takamura self, he shrugs that any of them killed by that little current were plainly weak, tagging them low voltage. A good scrap pleases him, though he nurses grudges, swearing that the next run-in with Osaragi and the surviving Order will finish with all of them dead. Under the attitude runs deep devotion to the Al-Kamar orphans he grew up beside, rescued by him from Shin's brainwashing, and he tries to nudge Uzuki past his Sakamoto fixation while bonding with Shishiba over both being men who never rouse themselves for their own sake.

Abilities

The Al-Kamar experiments handed Gozu a broad toolkit, above all his rare grip on electricity. His reflexes let him bat a fired rifle round from the air with a jolt off his nail guards, and by overclocking his frame with current he reaches speeds matching a lightning strike, his pupils gone as sparks coil around him. He can rip Osaragi's saw from her grasp with one arm and shatter Shishiba's hammer in a single blow, and he shrugs off a stone pillar being cut apart around him or being shoved clear across a bridge into a building. The heart of his power is electrokinesis routed through those golden guards, which fire bolts, charge his punches, or gather a shock fierce enough to drop Shishiba on the spot; his reserve runs dry, forcing him to recharge, yet he once pulled enough to darken much of Japan. That chest implant seems to be what carries the current through his body, and every Al-Kamar orphan got the same device, though only his frame kept it. Operating solo until the New JAA rose, he tangled with Shishiba, Kamihate, and Osaragi as they fled the group, and his stray lightning revived a fallen Osaragi, who sawed him through a pillar. He later stood with Uzuki against Shin, jolted the mind-controlled Order back to themselves, marveled at Sakamoto's resistance, and pushed Uzuki to lead rather than sulk so the lost orphans could finally rest, before he too met his end.
