Appearance

Tenkyu cuts a tall, muscular figure topped with tousled, undercut hair in a light green shade, and his lilac eyes carry noticeably long lashes. An indigo eyepatch covers his left eye, which, when revealed, shows a strange fisheye lens. In earlier days he buried his face under a cardboard box and wore a hoodie. Stripped of nearly all his clothing by the Super Antlion Hell Brothers inside the JAA Jail, he was left with only that old hoodie knotted at his waist, and after killing the brothers he took a pair of greyish-blue shorts off one of them.

Personality

Off the battlefield Tenkyu is laid-back to a fault, prone to dozing or leafing through a newspaper even when everything around him is falling apart. His obliviousness makes him seem strikingly naive and easy to fool, not unlike Heisuke early on. In a fight, though, an unsettling cheer takes over; he grins steadily and fixes wholly on the kill, taking a plain, remorseless pleasure in ending lives up close.

Raised as the lone success of Al-Kamar's push to manufacture feelingless killers, he approaches every problem with icy logic and no scruples about hostages or harming innocents, much like his adoptive sister Kumanomi. That amorality rattled even his brutal adoptive family: Uzuki flew into a rage when Tenkyu blandly floated seizing or killing Aoi and Hana. Yet a real emotional core does exist beneath the coldness, aimed at those he counts as family or friends. After breaking with Uzuki he tried to patch things by going after Sakamoto's household, and when Shin turned on him he was baffled by the hostility and simply fled rather than fight back. He often seems genuinely troubled by how easily he upsets people, wishing he understood others well enough to keep their friendship, and even quietly envies the bond between Shin and Heisuke.

Abilities

Uzuki names Tenkyu the only success the Al-Kamar Orphanage ever produced, and a figure too dangerous to keep around. He is a peerless archer, dispatching the Super Antlion Hell Brothers with ease and landing shots of uncanny precision, threading a narrow window past metal doors and a laser grid to hit a target and wound its operator. His genius lies in how loosely he treats the discipline; by his own logic anything airborne can serve as an arrow, and he once turned a slain prisoner's blood into a diversion against Shin, blending close and long range into a style built on surprises.

Like the other Al-Kamar orphans he wields tremendous strength, punching a hole clean through a foe's chest with an arrow, cratering the ground by slamming his bow down, and hurling Shin through rows of pillars. His reflexes let him deflect an airsoft round using only his bowstring, and his left eye, fitted with a fisheye lens from the orphanage's experiments, sharpens his aim at the cost of leaving him dizzy and queasy. His weapon is a custom compound bow whose string can shear through a human skull; detached at one end it becomes a mace able to snap thick metal pipe, and it doubles as a catapult.
