Episode 12

Word reaches Sakamoto and his allies through Wutang: the man called Slur has sprung the assassin world's most dangerous condemned prisoners from custody and set them loose to butcher hitmen. Rather than charge in blind, the group decides to study their opponents before any clash. On a separate track, ORDER hands its strongest operatives a blanket directive to erase every escaped convict, and its heavy hitters begin moving. The freed killers, treating the slaughter as a contest among themselves, eventually bring their spree to Shin and Lu while the two are out running errands.

The episode introduces the escapees Dump, Apart, Saw, and Minimalist, each stalking victims in a grotesque style of their own, and ORDER's swordsman Takamura makes his debut. Much of the runtime traps Shin and Lu inside a video rental store, where the brutish Saw corners them. When Saw taunts Shin with a threat against Sakamoto's household, Shin's esper power lurches to a new level, letting him plunge deeper into a target's thoughts. The fight tears the shop apart and sets it ablaze.

The adaptation reshuffles its opening, front-loading the Dump, Apart, Saw, and Minimalist vignettes that the manga placed after the trio reach the rental store. Several beats are original to the anime, among them a killer stumbling onto a corpse, added footage of Shin browsing the shelves, and an extended sequence charting his awakening. Staff cut the DVD clerk entirely and withheld the flashback where Sakamoto and Wutang explain motor-readiness potential, holding that groundwork for a later chapter. This entry adapts chapters 38 through 41, first aired on July 14, 2025, and falls within the Death Row Prisoners Arc, carrying the theme songs Method and Dandelion.
