Episode 18

Bent on reaching the JCC's records for leads on Slur, Sakamoto and Shin ride out the first round of the transfer test in mid-air. The examiners carry the engraved bullets everyone is fighting for, and the applicants descend into a brutal scramble. Sakamoto crosses paths with Akira, a nervous girl who barely knows how to hold a gun, and takes her under his protection. Shin, meanwhile, matches wits with the fastidious Mafuyu before a new threat throws the cabin into ruin.

Kanaguri, an ORDER member serving as an examiner, goes berserk with his clapperboard weapon, cutting through candidates and eventually firing a bullet that kills the pilot and cripples the plane. As the aircraft breaks apart, everyone is flung into open sky. Akira turns Sakamoto's apron and her own quick thinking into a makeshift parachute that carries the group down into the ocean, and Sakamoto swims her to shore. Usami, Atou, and Noro debut among the surviving examiners, and Nao Toramaru arrives by boat at the crash site.

The adaptation reworks Shin's memory montage of the ORDER members he has met, swapping in his clash with Uzuki where the manga recalled Sakamoto versus Boiled. It expands Kanaguri's introduction with film-strip framing, adds a spread of animals to Shin's telepathic sweep, and stages his acrobatic grab for his camera. Kanaguri covers chapters 59 through 61, aired on August 25, 2025, and continues the JCC Transfer Exams Arc under the themes Method and Dandelion.
