Chapter 169

When Oki lays out the mission to eliminate Sakamoto, Nagumo, and X, Shishiba doubts it can be done. Oki answers by leading the group to two fresh members of the Order. At a pachinko parlor he greets Torres, a slot-machine addict who owes the JAA over sixty billion yen and joins to clear the debt. Unimpressed, Shishiba turns to leave, but when Torres cheekily asks to borrow twenty million, Shishiba swings a hammer at his back only for the tool's claw to crumble away, quietly proving the newcomer's strength.

Outside, Osaragi lingers over a guitarist's playing and calls the music mournful. Offended, the man strikes another chord that drops Osaragi cold, revealing the song celebrates his first kill. Oki introduces this second recruit as Tanabata, a professional musician who writes tunes inspired by murder. Osaragi hauls him up by the collar demanding respect before releasing him, and with Torres rejoining them, Oki formally sets the extermination hunt in motion.

Back at the clinic, Sakamoto realizes it is Hana's birthday and insists on delivering her cake in person. Ignoring Granny Miya's warnings, he, Shin, and Nagumo don thirty-minute disguises and head to the shopping arcade. They spot JAA members but pass unnoticed, buy the cake, then follow Nagumo toward the arcade to win Hana a stuffed toy. Lost in thought, Shin bumps into Shishiba and instantly recognizes the Order; Sakamoto and Nagumo silently warn him not to flinch, but Torres locks eyes with the disguised Sakamoto.

The Order gains two members: Torres, a debt-ridden gambler whose durability shatters Shishiba's hammer, and Tanabata, a killer whose guitar can knock a man out. Oki assigns the group the task of hunting Sakamoto, Nagumo, and X. Sakamoto risks a disguised trip into public to buy Hana's birthday cake, and the outing ends with Torres making eye contact with him just as the two forces cross paths.

Titled A New Mission (Aratana Misshon), this is the one hundred sixty-ninth chapter and opens the JAA Jail Arc. It appeared in issue 28 of 2024 on June 10, 2024, and is gathered in Volume 19. Both Torres and Tanabata debut here. Uzuki appears only in a pictured form, and Hana is mentioned rather than shown.
