Summary

The reactivated dinosaur skeleton squares off against Sakamoto and Shin, and Sakamoto can barely contain his delight at the matchup. When the machine lashes out with its tail, both fighters drop low to slip under the strike, and Sakamoto marvels at the moving fossil, wishing his wife Hana could witness it. To Shin's disbelief, Sakamoto announces that he wants to capture the thing intact and pleads with his partner to go easy on it.

Shin spots an electrical component lodged in the creature's skull and proposes shorting it out with a taser. The jolt appears to land, but the dinosaur reboots into its top combat setting and snaps the taser apart before Sakamoto can press the advantage. Furious that his plan to keep it whole has collapsed, Sakamoto drives a fist straight into its jaws, shatters the mechanism, and boots the wreck aside. Perched atop the heap of scattered bones, he muses that dinosaurs are better off motionless, since stillness is where their mystique lives.

Key Events

Down in the underground research lab, staff members react to the commotion above just as a guard barks at them to keep working. One scientist protests that the team has gone three days without sleep, and moments later a woman named Namiki drops to the floor, the fifth researcher to collapse. When a colleague accuses the guard of forcing doomed experiments and endangering lives, the guard levels a pistol and declares the man has slandered the organization and must die. Sakamoto strides in, strips the weapon away, and Shin knocks the guard cold, leaving the researchers stunned to find every sentry outside already flattened. Told that the facility's chief is locked on the lowest floor and that assassins have seized the lab, Shin explains he is only passing through on an errand.

In a separate cell, Tanaka wails about being turned into a test subject until Lu kicks him and tells him to quiet down while she works on escaping. A restrained man beside them remarks that any lock is only as sturdy as its mechanism is crude, and that rubble will not free them; the real trick is changing the essential nature of the iron itself. Asked who he is, the stranger introduces himself as Asakura, the lab's research head, and offers to teach them how to spring the locks.
