A heavy dose of vanity colors Chris, who prizes his own strength immensely and flies into a rage at the mere suggestion that anyone alive could be capable of killing him. That arrogance, however, does not cloud his judgment, since he gives Norma's prophecy of his death real consideration after talking it through with her. Living alone and keeping to himself, he comes across as a solitary figure, and he refuses to die quietly, throwing himself at the three Monarchs even knowing the fight is lost.

Being both a Ruler's vessel and a National Level Hunter places Chris among the planet's elite, though his full repertoire is never witnessed since his fatal clash with three Monarchs happens off-page. His command of fire is staggering: quenching the blaze he leaves behind requires the deployment of 1,800 firefighters together with fourteen elite mage hunters, and Antares identifies the flame as belonging to the fire spirit Ifrit. Through Ruler's Authority he manipulates objects telekinetically, and Spiritual Body Manifestation lets him become a single-eyed humanoid creature crowned with burning orange hair.
