Norimitsu Kaihō

Norimitsu Kaiho is credited among the writers on A-1 Pictures' anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, contributing to the scripts that carried the story to screen. His background as a novelist experienced in adapting other creators' fantasy material made him a fitting addition to the writing team. It is one part of a career spent turning other people's stories into finished scripts.

Norimitsu Kaiho is a Japanese novelist and translator from Kanagawa Prefecture. He belonged to Keio University's fantasy fiction circle during his college years, an early step toward his writing career. He later joined the Solo Leveling anime's writing staff.

Norimitsu Kaiho broke into the industry as a fan translator, working on a Japanese edition of the tabletop RPG TORG. That work led him into translating American comics, and eventually into writing his own novels. His path from translator to novelist eventually brought him to anime scriptwriting.

For Danganronpa 3, Norimitsu Kaiho partnered with creator Kazutaka Kodaka, turning Kodaka's story outline into finished episode scripts. That collaboration marked a key step in his transition into anime writing. He later worked with Kodaka again on the anime Akudama Drive.

Norimitsu Kaiho won a Best in Original Screenplay award in an Anime Trending readers' poll. The honor followed his work on Akudama Drive, which he wrote alongside Kazutaka Kodaka and director Tomohisa Taguchi. That recognition came before his writing credit on Solo Leveling.
