Becky wears her dark brown hair in twin ponytails sprouting from the sides of her head, secured by ruffled white ties in the anime and pink ones in the manga. Uneven bangs sweep across her forehead, usually pinned by her trademark hairclip shaped like a lit bomb, an accessory she trades for fighter jets, flowers, butterflies, and other designs on outings. Narrow, double-lidded eyes, light brown on screen and hazel in colored manga art, sit above the faint blush that usually colors her fair-skinned face.

At school she dresses in the Eden Academy girls' uniform with black knee-high socks and black shoes, carrying a brown schoolbag that bears the same sheep keychain as Anya's. For the interclass dodgeball match she tied her hair with red ribbons over the gym uniform.

Becky is a warm-hearted girl wrapped in the pride of an elite upbringing. Eager to seem grown-up, she studies adult programming like Berlint in Love and models her ideals on it, a habit that once left her isolated, since classmates found her blunt, status-conscious manner off-putting. She initially writes off Anya Forger as unsophisticated, then falls completely for the girl's smug defiance of Damian Desmond and installs herself as Anya's best friend and self-declared protector.

Loyalty defines her from that point on. She wades into Anya's confrontations, worries that her own schemes might burden her friend, and treasures a cheap matching keychain above the extravagant gifts her father showers on her. Money barely registers for her, which cuts both ways: she is generous and unimpressed by luxury, yet her privileged frame of reference produces accidental insults about incomes and living space. Romance stays her favorite lens on the world; certain that Anya is pursuing Damian out of love, she engineers encounters between them and finds the unfolding "real thing" better than television. Becky is the daughter of the CEO of Blackbell Heavy Industries, one of Ostania's biggest military manufacturers, and grew up with the family butler Martha Marriott as her closest companion and maternal figure. Enrolled in Eden Academy's Cecile Hall, Class 3, she bonds with Anya soon after orientation and never lets go, later developing a crush on Loid Forger from a family photograph and picking up basic strength training and punching technique from Yor.

Her record at Eden is solid rather than spectacular: she clears every midterm at 42nd overall, then climbs to 38th by the term finals. Her practical intelligence shines brighter, most memorably during the Red Circus bus hijacking, when she and Anya devise a way to smuggle a distress signal out after learning where the kidnappers are headed. That bravery earns her a first Stella Star alongside Anya, Damian, and Bill Watkins. A second follows the Eden admissions scandal, where she helps clear Henry Henderson's name; a lifetime around strong perfumes leaves her immune to Dr. Benzene's sleeping fragrance, letting her rouse Anya and Damian and help restrain the culprit. She shows flair for crafts and fashion as well, building a paper model of Loid in a combat suit and confidently styling her friends, and she dreams of one day becoming a singer.
