Straight black hair worn long frames Domitri's narrow eyes, which sit behind circular silver glasses. His frame is tall and gangly, his skin light. On duty he wears his regiment's uniform and its standard side cap, hangs two pouches from his belt, and slings a brown bag over one shoulder to hold his divination supplies.

For the train journey toward Frigis he dressed down in an olive ivy cap and red and white shirts beneath a tan overcoat, with blue pants and white footwear below.

Timid and soft-spoken, Domitri lets superstition steer his life, packing his bag and pouches with divination gear and consulting it before making choices. He shares his regiment's commitment to Snidel's ambition of wrecking the East-West peace and igniting a fresh war, though what really keeps him obedient is terror: he follows the colonel's orders without protest because he dreads the consequences of refusing.

The dynamic flips when he faces someone weaker. Cornering the child Anya Forger, he turns smug and taunting, savoring the rare feeling of holding an advantage. Even so, his cruelty has a ceiling. Ordered to open Anya's belly to retrieve the microfilm, he squirms at the idea and bickers with Luca over which of them must do it, though his fear of Snidel arguably outweighs the qualms.

After allied agents lift a critical microfilm out of Westalis, Domitri and Luca receive the job of couriering it to Snidel in Frigis, concealed inside a chocolate truffle in their suitcase. His star reading warns they will lose something on the trip, and sure enough Luca misplaces the suitcase key, and the truffle vanishes, eaten, unknown to them, by Anya. The pair corner the girl aboard the train, only for her mother Yor to burst through the locked door and thrash them both after Anya brands them chocolate thieves out to hurt her.

Reporting the loss at the hangar housing the battle airship Enormity, they join Snidel's sweep of Frigis, and it is Domitri and Luca who eventually seize Anya, with Domitri tracking her by dowsing rods. Assigned to watch her until nature takes its course, Domitri surrounds the girl with a ring of coffee beans and bananas, chanting "three" after that number surfaces in his readings, then wins a round of rock paper scissors that spares him from performing the ordered surgery on her stomach. A sudden jolt through the airship, caused by Loid Forger crashing a plane into its hull, lets Anya slip away; Domitri locates her again through his toilet-paper divination. Dispatched afterward to search the vessel's sewage tank, the pair cross a disguised Loid, who recognizes them as his daughter's kidnappers and pummels them. Their final fate goes unshown, though they were presumably brought to the ground when the soldiers evacuated Enormity.
