Luca

Luca is a solidly built man with round eyes, brown hair shaved into a buzz cut, and thick black-framed glasses. On duty he wears the regiment's uniform with black suspenders and its standard side cap.

For the journey to Frigis he goes casual: a brown flat cap, a black jacket over a white collared shirt, matching brown trousers and shoes, and a pistol hidden in the jacket.

Luca usually plays the sober half of the duo, entertained by Domitri's fortune-telling yet just as often irritated by it. Like the rest of Snidel's soldiers, he buys into the colonel's aim of wrecking the East-West peace and igniting a fresh war. Toward Snidel himself he shows more than respect; he cowers before him and carries out every order without a word of protest.

In CODE: White, Domitri and Luca are handed a stolen microfilm hidden inside a truffle and told to bring it to Snidel in Frigis, boarding the same train the Forger family is riding. When Luca leaves the suitcase key behind in a lavatory, the two head to the luggage car and find the truffle gone. Their thief turns out to be little Anya Forger, whose mother Yor bursts in and thrashes the pair after Anya paints them as chocolate thieves. The worn-out soldiers stumble off at Frigis, realizing they must reach their colonel.

At the hangar sheltering the airship Enormity, they report the microfilm eaten, and it is Domitri and Luca who seize Anya and hand her over. The Forger dog Bond lunges at Luca and, though beaten off, tears the emblem from his shoulder. Ordered to wait for Anya to relieve herself, the two grow frustrated as she stubbornly holds it in, wise to their plan to be rid of her. When Snidel commands that her stomach be cut open, the two argue over the task and settle it by rock-paper-scissors, and Luca loses; he draws his knife just as Loid's crashing plane rocks Enormity and Anya slips away.

The pair chase her, recapture her, and are then sent into the airship's sewage tank to hunt the microfilm on pain of the same knife. On the way out they run into a disguised Loid, who spots the torn emblem, recognizes them as the kidnappers, and beats them down. Their ultimate fate stays unclear, though they are likely rounded up by fellow soldiers during the evacuation of Enormity. Tatsuya Endo designed Luca as Domitri's deliberate physical opposite in build, height, posture, hairstyle, and eyewear.
