Episode 10

The episode opens inside Henry Henderson's morning: a dawn jog around Eden Academy, a shower, tea shared with the dorm tutor, and reflections on discipline, including the Tonitrus Bolt he had to issue Anya on her first day. His serene routine ends when he spots Anya, Becky, and Damian's group squabbling below his window. Meanwhile Damian broods over the orientation photo and an album celebrating his older brother Demetrius, an Imperial Scholar, while Ewen and Emile insist Damian will outdo him and pass along a secondhand rumor: whoever stars in the coming interclass dodgeball game will be rewarded with a Stella.

Anya brings the rumor home. Loid doubts it, but Yor throws herself into coaching, drilling Anya through harsh exercises and teaching her a so-called killer move. On game day, Henderson referees the match between Cecile Hall and Wald Hall in place of the ailing Coach Bobby. Wald's towering first grader Bill Watkins dominates from the opening throw, catching Damian's ball and mowing down four Cecile players with the return. Becky falls to his counterattack, and a combined assault by Damian's trio costs Ewen and Emile their places.

Bill then hunts Anya, whose mind reading lets her slip shot after shot until she stumbles near the boundary. Damian leaps into the ball's path to shield her, fails the catch, and eliminates himself along with his MVP hopes. Vowing to avenge his sacrifice, Anya unleashes Yor's killer move, but her throw bounces short, and Bill's answer knocks her out of the game. The celebration dies fast: Henderson announces that a mere P.E. match never carried a Stella, and Bill's shout of "Die" may instead earn him a Tonitrus Bolt. Watching the children bicker over Damian's wasted heroics, Henderson quietly reconsiders and judges their teamwork worthy of a star after all.

The opening segment adapts Short Mission 4, moved from its manga placement after the midterm exams to before the dodgeball game, with the Cecile dorm mother's cameo and Henderson's letter home trimmed; it is the first Short Mission the anime adapts. The main story covers Chapter 15. Bill's trump card is renamed from Super Slider Shot to Homing Slider Shot.

Anime-original material includes Damian studying the orientation photo, the yearbook scene with Ewen and Emile, expanded training flashbacks for Bill and for Damian's trio, a calendar drawing that tips its hat to Dodge Danpei, and Bach's Concerto for Two Violins playing on Henderson's gramophone.
