Summary

Loid shoots the strap off the German shepherd's explosive and hurls the device into the river an instant before Keith detonates it, then tosses the pouncing dog into a dumpster. Realizing the man in the distance was never Brantz, Keith flees by car, only for Yor, still hunting for Anya, to leap from a footbridge and kick the vehicle into a crash that leaves him unconscious for the police. At Kemono Park, the pet shop WISE secretly operates, Sylvia decides the Ostanian government will handle the cleanup while WISE holds onto the dogs for now.

Outside the shop, Loid runs into Anya, Yor, and the white dog. Hearing how his wife and daughter got tangled in the crisis, he apologizes for his convenient absence, then recognizes the animal as a Project Apple subject that cannot simply roam free. Agents dressed as SSS officers move to take it, citing the terrorist connection, and Anya digs in: this dog saved her, no other will do, and without him she will never set foot in school again. With Operation Strix hostage to that threat, Sylvia overrules Loid on the spot, promising Anya the other dogs will be treated well and mentioning to Loid that she once had a daughter around the same age. After an overnight health check, the dog joins the household, shaking off memories of laboratory abuse as Anya welcomes him into the family.

There is no Stella for stopping terrorists, since East-West relations require the incident stay buried, so Anya recycles her plan to charm Damian with dog talk. It collapses when she admits her pet's name is "Dog," prompting Damian to pronounce her unfit for ownership. A family trip to the dog park brings lessons on lifelong responsibility, a mangled lecture Yor mishears as dogs distinguishing causes of death, and Loid's private admission that he lectures on commitments he plans to walk away from once the mission ends. When a bulldog claims Anya's lost gloves, her dog stares it down and retrieves them, mirroring a Spy Wars scene of Bondman rescuing Princess Honey's stomach warmer, and the perfect name clicks: Bond. The family approves, and that night Loid and Yor find girl and dog asleep in a heap, a sight worth skipping one study session.

Notes

The episode draws on Chapters 22 and 23, directed by Norihito Takahashi from storyboards by Takeyoshi Sekine and Takashi Katagiri, and reached Japanese screens on October 15, 2022. Unlike in the manga, Anya cries after delivering her school ultimatum.

The Yor-and-Bond fantasy differs by language: the English manga built the gag on "plosives" misheard as "explosives," complete with C4 talk, while the anime translates the Japanese wordplay more literally, with consonants misheard as causes of death; the Spanish dubs render it as detonants. Anya also stands in front of Bond, rather than beside him, when sampling his food.
