With the Eden Academy interview demanding a mother, Loid tries dressing Franky as a woman, and the result convinces nobody. A genuine candidate must be found. Over at Berlint City Hall, coworkers needle Yor about being 27 and unattached; Camilla mentions that neighbors recently turned in an unmarried woman in her late twenties on spy suspicion, then invites Yor to a weekend party and dares her to bring a date. That night Yuri phones, fretting over his sister's future, and Yor lies that a partner is already lined up. Minutes later her true employer calls: the Shopkeeper dispatches the Thorn Princess to the Royal Hotel, where she slaughters Vice Minister Brennan and his guards, ruining her only good dress in the process. Raised in the trade since childhood, she reflects that cleaning is her sole homemaking skill.

Franky supplies Loid with city hall records on every unmarried woman, though the odds of finding one willing to wed a divorced father inside 48 hours look hopeless. At a tailor shop, where Anya is being fitted for interview clothes, Yor arrives to have her ruined dress repaired. Loid recognizes her file: orphaned, clean record, a civil servant brother. Each quietly sizes up the other as a candidate, and each backs off, until Anya, ecstatic after reading Yor's assassin thoughts, performs theatrical loneliness about having no mother. The gambit works. Yor asks Loid to escort her to Camilla's party; he accepts in exchange for her posing as his wife at the school interview.

Saturday brings a collision of schedules. Loid's side mission, retrieving stolen art and wiping out a smuggling ring with a reluctant Franky, runs long, and he reaches the party bloodied, blurting an introduction as Yor's husband after mixing up their cover stories. He then dismantles the room's hostility: he catches Camilla's staged gratin toss failing against Yor's foot-block, cuts off gossip about her past hotel "massages," and praises the years she sacrificed raising Yuri alone. Fleeing the ring's surviving reinforcements afterward, Yor sends an attacker flying with a kick, then proposes marriage as a shield for them both, a suggestion that literally knocks Loid off his feet. Having lost a stolen diamond ring through a hole in his pocket, he pulls the pin from a grenade, hurls the explosive at their pursuers, and offers her the pin's ring as the blast lights the sky behind them. Yor says yes.

Yor Briar debuts, and her double life as the assassin Thorn Princess is revealed through the Royal Hotel job against Vice Minister Brennan.

Anya reads Yor's mind at the tailor shop and learns her secret, then engineers the first meeting between her father and future mother.

Loid and Yor strike their bargain: a party escort in exchange for a fake wife at Anya's school interview.

The episode closes on their engagement, sealed with a grenade pin's ring mid-firefight.

The episode adapts Chapter 2 within the Introduction Arc and first aired in Japan on April 16, 2022. Its key visual reworks that chapter's cover page.

Several shots soften the manga's violence: the hand-washing scene is framed tighter and the floor shot afterward hides the blood and bodies. The anime also invents an identity certificate for Yor bearing the date "06 APR 63," adds an original fight scene during the escape, and shows a clock indicating she waited roughly an hour and a half for Loid.

Background gags include the supermarket "Dlid," a riff on the German chain Lidl, and a train station modeled on Berlin Friedrichstrasse. The ending theme "Comedy" is credited but never plays.
