Yor settles into Loid's apartment, where the arrangement calls for separate bedrooms and a shared one whenever guests visit. A marriage certificate backdated a full year, quietly forged by Franky, papers over the couple's history. Anya delights in having a mother, nearly hauling open the one box Yor cannot let anyone touch, the one packed with blades and poisons. A trial interview exposes how far the family has to go: Anya botches her own name and address, while Yor answers questions about education and parenting with musings on causes of death and striking first. Convinced a pass is impossible at this rate, Loid proposes an outing to absorb how refined households actually live.

The excursion stumbles from the start. An opera bores Anya to sleep and baffles Yor, and at the art museum Anya blurts out inappropriate commentary while Yor gravitates to a guillotine painting. A stop at Yor's regular tailor produces a dark blue semi-formal dress, though she admits preferring black or red since those shades disguise bloodstains, and a photographer takes their first family portrait. A Nationalist Party rally, chosen because Eden prizes patriotism, overwhelms Anya; the din of the crowd's thoughts leaves her ill. Dinner goes no better, and Loid quietly begins to lose faith in the operation.

Everything turns at a hilltop park Yor suggests for fresh air. When a thief grabs an elderly woman's purse below, Yor gives chase and Loid tracks him, but both lose the trail in a packed street. Anya sweeps the crowd with her telepathy until her nose bleeds, then points the man out; Loid confirms it is him by his unchanged gait despite swapped clothes and takes him down. The grateful victim, whose money was meant for a grandchild's gift, calls them a good family, and her thanks stirs something Loid has not felt in years. That night the mock interview runs far more smoothly, and watching Yor and Anya laugh together, Loid senses genuine progress, however small.

Yor officially joins the household, complete with a forged year-old marriage certificate courtesy of Franky. The first practice interview collapses under Anya's confusion and Yor's assassin instincts. The family's culture tour spans an opera, a museum, the tailor, a photo studio, and a political rally that overloads Anya's telepathy. All three Forgers combine their hidden talents to catch a purse snatcher, with Anya secretly locating him, Loid identifying and subduing him, and Yor initiating the chase. An old woman's praise of the trio as a good family restores Loid's motivation, and the retried interview shows real improvement.

The cold open adapts the opening three pages of Chapter 1 with added censorship: the corpses beneath Yor's chair and the objects under Loid's are darkened compared to the manga and to pre-broadcast previews. Anime-original material includes the expanded move-in sequence, the tailor and photo studio visits, and explicit confirmation that Franky forged the certificate. The portrait taken here is modeled on the Chapter 2 cover and later stands as the family's pre-Bond photograph. The opera performance uses "Estuans Interius" from Carmina Burana, replacing the manga's nod to The Magic Flute, and the hospital receives the anime-only name Central Hospital.
