History
Souta lures Ami to the Ghoul Restaurant with the claim that he means to marry her. When she grasps that she has been deceived and is meant to be the meal, she falls apart. He then offers to rescue her, and in her desperation she trips Ken Kaneki so that he will be devoured in her place, even though he had vowed to shield her. The gambit backfires once the ghoul Taro identifies Kaneki as the main course and starts chasing her instead. Poison from the coffee she drank earlier takes hold and leaves her paralyzed, and Taro seizes her and roasts her alive.
