Hajime Hazuki

Hajime is a young boy with spiky black hair tinted faintly blue and dark blue eyes.

Having lost his parents to ghouls, Hajime carries a fierce hatred for the species and a drive to avenge his family. He hungers for power and gravitates toward strength, a trait that shows in the way he idolizes Ken Kaneki, hailing him as a miracle among humans.

Introduced at first only in passing at the CCG's 20th ward branch, Hajime later resurfaces as one of the children making up the newly formed Quinx Squad, taking part in beheading a false Kaneki alongside the Clowns. Posing as a young ghoul named Kou, he is set upon by investigators and rescued by Naki, who escorts him to Goat's hideout within the 24th ward and introduces him to Ken Kaneki. Kou sneaks into the base's computer room to steal information, is caught by Shuu Tsukiyama, and in the fight that follows unleashes his kagune to overpower Tsukiyama with ease before Arima Squad seizes him.

Held prisoner and watched over by Fuka, he breaks out when the CCG launches its extermination push into the 24th ward, killing Fuka in his escape, and is intercepted by Arima Squad. He turns up again after Kaneki is crippled by Hanbee Abara and Juuzou Suzuya, presenting the severed heads of Shio Ihei and Rikai Souzu and now openly mocking the man he once worshipped. Told to handle the fallen Kaneki personally, Hajime moves in to capture him, only for Kaneki to lunge, bite away part of his face, and impale his head with a kagune. As an Oggai, Hajime carried Rize Kamishiro's kakuhou, which gave him a strong healing factor and a rinkaku kagune able to sprout several tentacles and even form mouths like Kaneki's own.
