Katsuya Mabuchi

Messy brown hair and a set of prominent buck teeth make him easy to pick out. He usually turns up in a white shirt paired with a black tie.

Most of the time he keeps things businesslike, though a careless streak surfaces now and then. His own will summed him up bluntly: he had died, wanted no funeral, and was signing off.

Mabuchi started out as a promising information-engineering student at Teihou University and a talented programmer, until his focus drifted toward video games. He climbed to fame in competition, excelling at shooters and strategy titles and steering his team to a national championship. Marude noticed him during this run and pulled him into Division II. He joined the campaign against Aogiri Tree in the 11th ward, traced the anonymous tip that exposed the 11th Ward Base back to Hideyoshi Nagachika, and worked beside Hide on Marude's command staff during the Owl Suppression Operation, weighing each faction's strengths and issuing orders. In the years that follow he rises to lead the TSC's intelligence department, still aiding Marude and helping keep Tokyo peaceful even after his mentor retires. On the field his gift is coordination: he slips into a focused trance, typing rapidly while relaying objectives to the units.
