Misato Gori

Standing well above average height, Misato cuts a striking, hard-edged figure with a build and bearing many read as androgynous. Her dark hair is cropped short and her stare carries real force, while a stern set to her mouth rarely softens. A birthmark sits squarely in the middle of her forehead. In keeping with her profession she dresses in tailored suits, choosing trousers over a skirt.

Fiery and driven, Misato takes her duties seriously and holds genuine pride in the work. She is quick to decide, full of energy, and openly admiring of her superiors. Confidence, however, outpaces her tact, so her manner can land as brusque or combative. A gentler side does surface, most visibly when she grieves the comrades lost in the Anteiku operation.

Misato joined the push against Aogiri Tree in the 11th ward as part of the Special Countermeasures Unit. After the Owl Suppression Operation she was thrown into turmoil, unable to accept the reports that Koutarou Amon had died. Spotting Akira Mado, she lashed out and accused her of feeling nothing over the loss of a partner and classmate, only to be stunned when Mado wept and confessed she had loved them both. Her attachment to Amon ran deep and unstated; while working beside him in the 11th ward she masked her feelings behind a gruff front, and she even tried learning to cook to reach him, though she could never say the words.

Later she reunited with Iwao Kuroiwa's circle following the Third Cochlea Raid and the massacre of the Washuu clan. When the Clowns struck several CCG branch offices, she helped hold the 22nd ward as a member of the Kuroiwa Squad, and in the 9th ward she downed two attackers and directed the ukaku firing line to target their balloons. At Takeomi and Yoriko Kosaka's wedding she caught the tossed bouquet by accident. During the Dragon arc she fought the Taxidermied Owl and survived a blow only because her quinque absorbed it, leaving her unable to continue. Her weapon, Emelio, is an organically shaped ukaku quinque ringed with crystalline teeth around the muzzle; she fires volleys of crystallized Rc cells at range with better precision than most ukaku ghouls, though it drains quickly and suits only short bursts of combat. In the epilogue she serves at the TSC supporting Kuroiwa's recovery while fielding a stream of marriage proposals.
