Nanao Yasuhisa was the head of the Sphinx Trading Company and the father of the twins Kurona and Nashiro Yasuhisa. Behind a picture of family happiness lay ruinous debt and a devil's bargain with the CCG, one that ended in his murder and set his daughters on a path of vengeance.
Nanao came across as an ordinary man distinguished mainly by his long hair. Nothing about his look set him apart from any other businessman of his standing.
Within his home he was warm and devoted, a father who doted on his wife and daughters. He kept a personal library stocked with world literature, works on running a business, and children's books. Tsukiyama would later describe him as the very image of contentment.
Nanao built the Sphinx Trading Company on money inherited from his father, and outwardly he seemed to enjoy a serene life in a grand mansion with his wife and twin girls, steering what looked like a thriving firm. According to Akihiro Kanou, that image was a lie: his ventures had collapsed, he had drained the family fortune, and he was buried under enormous debt. The Commission of Counter Ghoul offered to absorb what the family owed, and in return the Yasuhisa estate would serve as a cover for a hidden laboratory dug beneath the manor for the CCG's ghoulification experiments. Nanao agreed with great reluctance, but the cruelty of the research eventually sickened him, and when he tried to alert the outside world the CCG had him and his wife eliminated.
The killing was carried out when a ghoul broke into the mansion and slaughtered the couple in front of their daughters. Kurona and Nashiro were then taken into CCG custody and raised to become ghoul investigators. Years afterward the same estate passed to Kanou, who turned it into the site of his own experiments and lured the twins to his side with a promise of revenge. Takatsuki Sen later approached Koutarou Amon and revealed that the facility under the mansion belonged to the CCG, and that Nanao had secretly traded with the agency, selling it a liquid rendered from dissolved ghoul bodies. From this, Amon concluded the CCG had a hand in Nanao's death.

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
