Summary

All eyes fall on the 11th Ward as the fight against Aogiri Tree takes shape. The CCG readies its assault, Anteiku finalizes its rescue plan, and Hide follows the news with unease. With civilians cleared from the area, Anteiku brings in Tsukiyama and Uta to bolster its ranks.

The CCG's push on the base proves harder than expected, as ghoul snipers keep the forces pinned outside. Juuzou solves the problem by commandeering Marude's motorcycle and using it to hurl himself in and cut down the marksmen. Once inside, many investigators fall to Aogiri's executives, and Anteiku exploits the confusion by moving through disguised as members of the group. Yoshimura, Hinami, and Kaya hold back while the others slip in and split up to search for Kaneki. Tsukiyama, Yomo, and Uta cross paths with Noro, and Touka is cornered by Amon until the Bin brothers attack him, letting her slip away. Amon then defeats the pair with his new weapon, Kura.

Elsewhere in the base, Kaneki is confined to Yamori's hobby room. Tatara, deciding Aogiri has no use for him, has handed him over to Yamori, who tortures him in cycles that allow just enough recovery between sessions. During those breaks Banjou and his companions come in to clean and quietly promise to free him.

The CCG's elite drive furthest in and clear several sections, only to reach an empty rooftop. The eerie calm breaks when the One-Eyed Owl appears. Marude, contacted for orders, advises sending in only a handful of their best who are willing to die. As attention swings toward the Owl, Touka's desperate search leaves her exposed to a barrage of ukaku shards, and Nishiki throws himself in the way to shield her. Ayato then arrives, and the two square off.
