Summary

During the landing on Rushima, Torso strangles Tooru Mutsuki and drags him away, and the Quinx Squad, losing contact, presses forward to search. Mutsuki wakes in a cave dressed in a white gown, with Torso standing over him. Amid nearby ruins, Miza Kusakari is badly hurt by Hanbee Abara, who is then ambushed by Kurona Yasuhisa, bent on avenging her sister against Juuzou Suzuya. Juuzou arrives to save Hanbee and fights Kurona himself.

Inside a building, Akira Mado, Kousuke Houji, and a CCG squad confront Tatara, who battles them in his kakuja form. Kurona confesses she keeps her sister Nashiro alive as a parasitic face in her abdomen, trusting Dr. Kanou to save her, but Juuzou tells her Nashiro is already dead. Enraged, she grows her own kakuja, and Juuzou eventually defeats her, slicing off her arms as she barely escapes.

Key Events

Seidou Takizawa cuts into the Tatara fight and swiftly kills the ghoul out of revenge, then turns to the squad expecting praise. Instead Houji orders him taken down, and the furious Takizawa slaughters Houji and the group. As he moves to finish Akira, Koutarou Amon appears to save her, revealing he too was captured and made into a ghoul by Kanou, though branded a failed experiment. Amon claims he came to save Takizawa, who insists he is beyond saving, and the two clash until Amon is defeated and the Quinx Squad arrives.

A wounded Kurona finds Kanou and begs him to save Nashiro, but he mocks her belief and unleashes his Quinx clone experiments to defend himself. Kurona holds her own and condemns him as a mad scientist before Nishiki Nishio suddenly seizes Kanou from behind. Elsewhere in the ruins, Koori Ui finds Miza weeping over Naki's body and tells her to give up, but Naki rises unharmed to shield her, and the White Suits join the fight. As Ui's squad surrounds them, Shuu Tsukiyama appears from atop the structure to offer his aid.
