Summary

Kaneki, Nishiki and Tsukiyama race to shield ghouls under CCG attack but reach them only after all have been slaughtered. The next day, as Kaneki weighs his next move, Touka opens up about her feelings and urges him to lean on his friends rather than shoulder everything alone. Mutsuki storms the cafe demanding that his sensei return to the CCG, forcing the pair to flee; they take refuge in an abandoned tower, where they grow intimate for the first time.

At the same time Takeomi Kuroiwa and Yoriko marry, but Furuta learns of Yoriko's old school ties to Touka and has her imprisoned. When Nishiki checks on Kaneki, he hints that Touka is pregnant, which Kaneki soon confirms with her directly, and the two resolve to wed as well. Furuta and the Clowns, meanwhile, ready an assault on the ghouls and prepare to deploy a final secret weapon.

Notes

The title puns on "reproof." The episode adapts a stretch of Tokyo Ghoul:re chapters. Numerous manga details shift: Kaneki spits out coffee rather than spilling his cup when Touka asks about his virginity; ghoul corpses are censored; Urie's visit to Mutsuki is cut; and the intimacy scene is largely replaced with memories, ending with both leads in tears instead of Kaneki alone. Cut material also includes Hajime infiltrating Goat and the note that Kaneki has little time left from refusing to eat.
