Awakened Child: incarnation

Mutsuki and CCG troops storm the reception for Kaneki and Touka's wedding and begin cutting down the guests. Urie and Kuroiwa head to headquarters to challenge Furuta over his unhinged leadership, but inside his office Roma, revealed as the SSS-rated ghoul Dodgy Mother, and Shikorae ambush them. Kuroiwa is gravely hurt, yet Urie manages to slay both attackers. Furuta then drives a blade through Kuroiwa's head, and Marude arrives to shoot Furuta without finishing him, arriving with Hide, who asks Urie for aid.

Far underground the fighting splits apart: Touka duels Mutsuki, Tsukiyama, Nishio and Yomo hold off the Suzuya squad, and Kaneki takes on the Oggai unit. Suzuya soon turns on Kaneki, and the two escalate into a brutal exchange until Kaneki senses Touka trapped and rushes to save her. Ripped apart by the Oggai squad, Kaneki lets his inner monster loose and unleashes what may be the largest kagune ever witnessed.

The wedding banquet is invaded by Mutsuki and CCG forces. Urie and Kuroiwa confront Furuta and are ambushed by Roma, exposed as Dodgy Mother, and Shikorae, both of whom Urie kills. Furuta wounds Kuroiwa, Marude shoots Furuta, and Hide reappears. The underground fights break into multiple fronts, and after being torn apart by the Oggai squad, Kaneki transforms into a colossal beast.

The title puns on "reincarnation." The episode adapts a spread of Tokyo Ghoul:re chapters. Many manga elements are altered: Shinsanpei skips the Goat Wipeout Operation; the mass slaughter of CCG members by Roma and Shikorae is cut; Urie's sword and shield kagune merge rather than staying separate; Kaneki faces Suzuya alone; and Kaneki devours a random Oggai member instead of Hajime. Touka and Mutsuki also witness the Dragon transformation, unlike in the manga.
