Role

Beyond its offensive edge, the weapon shifted into a defensive stance that let Arima turn aside the kagune of numerous powerful ghouls. It first took damage during the Owl Suppression Operation at V14 in a clash with Ken Kaneki. Once mended, Arima carried it again until the Third Cochlea Raid, where Kaneki wrecked it for good during their second underground fight.

Investigators of the Arima Squad carry blades that echo IXA in both look and behavior, able to change from a broad sword into a shield. Whether these are versions of IXA or simply copies has never been made clear.
