Role

Kichimura Washuu paired the Oggai with the Suzuya Squad to stand in for the former S3 Squad that Kishou Arima had led, betting on numbers and force over a small band of elites. The squads also carried a hidden second purpose, serving as sacrifices meant for Ken Kaneki. Each member is a child put through experiments in Lab 4 of the CCG Laboratory Division, reworked by way of Akihiro Kanou's perfected kakuhou transplant surgery. Sharing one kakuhou source, every one of them wields a strong rinkaku kagune, and several show a sharpened sense of smell keen enough to hunt down ghouls who had slipped past routine searches. Whether they also gain the rapid regeneration of other Eater-types is not yet known.
