Overview
Called kuinke hagane in Japanese, quinque steel is the metal behind the CCG's ghoul-hunting equipment. The organization alone makes and controls it, keeping the work inside its Laboratory Division over in the 1st ward.
Role
Rc solution goes into forging the alloy, which comes out extremely hard to break, an ideal quality for weapons meant to withstand ghouls. A single ton carries a steep price of roughly nine hundred thousand yen. Its defining trait is exclusivity: no quinque can be shaped from anything else. The material also figures into the Quinx procedure, where a transplanted kakuhou is wrapped in stacked frames of the steel.
