The Tsukiyama family stands among the ghoul world's elite, a bloodline steeped in wealth and quietly wielding power across ordinary human institutions. At the heart of their empire sits the Tsukiyama Group, a globe-spanning conglomerate that controls more than twenty subsidiaries and touches nearly every industry. What began as a prewar financial house was restructured after the Second World War toward trade, and its reach came to span food, precious metals, steel, chemicals, private medicine, and even ties to Seinan Gakuin University. That leverage let the clan bury its true identity for over a hundred years.

Generations of marriages between close relatives left the family carrying a hereditary flaw, one that warps the way the act of cannibalism reshapes their bodies.

The clan eventually drew the gaze of the Commission of Counter Ghoul, which pursued them under the code name Rose after learning that a lone survivor of the Rosewald line had joined their household. Their cover unraveled when Shiki Kijima seized and tortured two members of the manor's staff, and once the truth surfaced, Tsuneyoshi Washuu ordered an extermination campaign that left the family all but wiped out. Their holdings had included a grand estate in the 21st Ward together with many other homes and commercial sites scattered across Tokyo.

Household servants could be told apart by their attire, which shifted with their tasks. Some wore standard maid livery, while others matched a dress shirt with a striped waistcoat and patterned trousers. On hunts, family agents cloaked themselves in dark trench coats and drew veils across their faces, and at least one carried a sizable case for hauling captured prey back to the residence.

The direct line runs through Mirumo Tsukiyama, its former head, down to his son Shuu Tsukiyama, the heir who took up leadership, alongside the departed Tsukuru Tsukiyama and Shuu's late mother. Branch relations tie the clan to the Rosewald and Johannes households, counting cousins such as Kanae, Nathanael, and Arunolt von Rosewald as well as the distant relative Tycho Johannes. A circle of retainers and associates filled out their operation, including Chie Hori, Matsumae, Aliza, Jirou Asada, and Kurei, who between them oversaw ventures like the Apollo Group, Jewelry Tycho, and Asada Goods.
