Kaneki finally comes face to face with the starved, unresponsive Rize inside a shipping container, and Yomo helps him see where his real strength comes from. A parallel Anteiku memory shows Yoshimura counseling Touka, ending in a chance meeting.
Sealed inside the container with Rize, Kaneki tries to draw her into conversation. Yomo warns that prolonged starvation has left her mind in ruins, yet Kaneki presses on, describing everything that has happened to him since the accident that changed his life. Rize gives no response, so he keeps reaching for any flicker of recognition. Watching, Yomo quietly admits this was never the reunion he had pictured.
As Kaneki wrestles with the moment, he speaks about how much he once relied on the image of Rize's power, saying that without that image he would never have found his own footing. Yomo corrects him, insisting that every step forward has come from Kaneki himself. He then coaxes Kaneki to his feet for a talk, and over coffee Kaneki remarks that the brew tastes just like the one Yoshimura makes.
Back at Anteiku, Yoshimura and Touka discuss her schooling and her plans ahead. He advises her to hear out other people and to speak in a voice that is genuinely her own. Afterward he sends Nishiki and Touka to collect coffee beans for the shop, and along the way the pair cross paths with Hinami and Tsukiyama.
Yomo reveals that Rize's long starvation has shattered her mental state, so she cannot recognize Kaneki. In their exchange, Kaneki comes to understand that the strength he had credited to Rize was always his own. He also notices that Yomo's coffee mirrors Yoshimura's exactly. In the parallel scene, Yoshimura guides Touka on her studies and on expressing herself, then dispatches her and Nishiki on an errand that ends with them running into Hinami and Tsukiyama.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
In Chapter 116, Reunion, Ken Kaneki is sealed inside a container with the starved, unresponsive Rize Kamishiro and tries to draw her into conversation. Yomo warns that prolonged starvation has left her mind in ruins, and Rize gives no response despite Kaneki's efforts to reach her.
Renji Yomo corrects Ken Kaneki when Kaneki credits Rize's power for his growth, insisting that every step forward has come from Kaneki himself. Yomo then coaxes Kaneki up for coffee that Kaneki says tastes just like Yoshimura's.
