Summary

Renji Yomo arrives at Touka Kirishima's home to lead her out of the 20th ward. She challenges why Kaya Irimi and Enji Koma have chosen to stand against the CCG, and Yomo explains that both once committed terrible acts, making this fight their form of atonement. Touka cries that she too has killed and deserves the same reckoning, but Yomo tells her she still needs time to weigh what she has done.

Pouring out her feelings about her family and the refuge Anteiku gave her, Touka begs to help Yoshimura even as she dwells on her shortcomings. Yomo gently settles her and guides her clear of the ward.

Irimi presses on against Chuu Hachikawa, uneasy about Take Hirako's power. An elderly woman suddenly wanders close, and Hachikawa fires a barrage without regard for her. Irimi throws herself into the line of fire, sparing the woman but taking the wounds herself.
