Chapter 51

While patrolling the 20th ward, Yoshimura and Renji Yomo trade thoughts about Aogiri Tree, the ghoul faction that answers to the One-Eyed King. A sudden unease convinces Yoshimura that Kaneki may be in danger, so he turns back toward Anteiku.

Inside, Banjou stirs awake and Kaneki hands him a glass of water before apologizing for the earlier scuffle. Banjou insists the younger ghoul is tougher than his appearance suggests, then bows low once he realizes Kaneki's scent does not truly match Rize's. Asked where Rize has gone, Kaneki hides her death and claims she simply left the shop. Banjou pleads for a warning to be passed along: the One-Eyed King hunts Rize, Aogiri is bound for this ward, and Kaneki himself should flee.

The conversation ends abruptly when Ayato Kirishima bursts through a window, kicking Banjou hard enough to snap bone and promising worse. Touka steps between them, stunned to find her missing younger brother, and Kaneki grasps the family tie for the first time. Yamori and Nico then appear, irritating Ayato by beating him to the scene, and Nico's sharp sense of smell confirms that the Rize-scented prisoner belongs back in the 11th ward.

Yoshimura abandons his patrol on instinct, sensing Kaneki is threatened. Banjou reveals that Aogiri and its leader are targeting Rize while heading for the 20th ward. Ayato is exposed as Touka's estranged brother when he storms Anteiku. Yamori and Nico track Kaneki down, intending to haul him to the 11th ward as the one-eyed ghoul they have been seeking.

Titled 勅令 (Chokurei), the fifty-first installment appears in Volume 6 and ran in issue 2012-47 on October 18, 2012. It sits between Chapter 50 and Chapter 52 and escalates the Aogiri Tree storyline by bringing the faction's enforcers directly to Anteiku's doorstep.
